Franchise website design: one brand, a site for every location

A franchise website has two jobs that pull against each other. It has to look like one brand everywhere, and it has to feel local enough that someone searching nearby books with that location. Good franchise web design solves both with structure, not with a different agency for every franchisee.

What a location site needs

  • The basics, correct and current: address, map, hours, phone and a booking button that books that location.
  • Services and prices for that location, within the ranges the brand allows.
  • The local team and the local space, in real photos where possible.
  • Local proof: recent reviews, neighborhoods served, local offers.
  • Links to the brand's other locations, so a visitor who is in the wrong area still books.

Three ways brands set this up

  1. One brand site with location pages. Simple to manage, but location pages often end up thin and identical.
  2. A separate site per location, built by each franchisee. Local, but the brand drifts, quality varies and nothing is consistent.
  3. Templated location sites from one platform. Headquarters approves the designs; each location fills in and maintains its own details. This is the model that scales.

Templates that keep the brand consistent

Give locations a small set of approved templates and color palettes rather than a blank canvas. Lock the fonts, logo use and photo library. Let owners choose their template, reorder sections and add their own photos and team. That keeps every site recognizably yours while letting each one be specific about its neighborhood.

Launching new locations

The best time to start a location's website is when the lease is signed, not when the doors open. A pre-opening page with a countdown and a limited number of founding spots collects sign-ups for months before launch, and starts the location's search presence early. On opening day it switches to the full site.

Moving existing sites without losing traffic

If your locations already have websites, move them over before redesigning. Bring each existing site across unchanged, keep its addresses and redirects, then switch locations to the new template one at a time. Nothing goes dark, and you can watch rankings at each step.

How Multistead does it

  • Every location gets its own website from templates headquarters approves. See all 24 templates, including designs built for real clinics, gyms, IV lounges and contractors.
  • Owners edit in a Design Studio and Photo Studio, within the brand's palettes and photo library.
  • Booking, local SEO and structured data are built into every location site.
  • Founders pages handle pre-opening, and mirror mode moves existing sites over unchanged.
  • Template switches and go-lives are raised as changes and signed off by the brand.

Questions

How much does a franchise website cost per location?

Franchise web vendors commonly charge a few hundred dollars per location per month. Multistead starts at $249 per location per month for the Site plan, billed annually, with hosting, templates and SEO included.

Can each franchisee have their own domain?

Yes. A location can run on its own domain or on a page of the brand's domain. Multistead supports both.

Who owns the content if a franchisee leaves?

The brand does. Location sites live in the brand's account, so a new owner can take over the same site.

Do the templates work on phones?

Yes. Every template is built for phones first, since most local searches happen on mobile.
