SOCi alternative

A SOCi alternative that starts with the website every location needs

SOCi is built around localized social, listings, reviews and messaging for multi-location brands. If your locations also need real websites they can update, Maps rankings you can see street by street, and one place for franchisee requests, Multistead puts all of that in one hub, priced per location.

What SOCi does well

SOCi is strongest at localized social media for franchises: brand-approved content that each location can post and engage with, plus listings and reputation tools, now packaged as AI "Genius" agents. Reviewers often credit it with keeping the brand consistent while letting locations stay active on social. As of October 2026, SOCi's pricing page says it charges "no per-user fees" and "no per-profile or per-listing fees", which is a fair model. If localized social is your main channel, SOCi is a serious choice.

Why brands look for a SOCi alternative

The reasons we hear most from multi-location teams are practical rather than about any one feature:

  • The location websites still live somewhere else. Listings point to pages a separate web vendor or agency controls, so a new price, photo or team member becomes a ticket.
  • The price isn't published. SOCi says it is "priced by location and by agent" and scopes every deployment to a custom quote, with no free trial. Capterra lists SOCi as starting at $30,000 and says most partnerships start around $15,000 a year (third-party estimate, as of October 2026; the two figures don't agree, so ask SOCi for your own number). That makes it hard to budget per location or roll out to a few locations first.
  • Smaller brands need less, not more. A group with 5 to 50 locations often wants the essentials done well for every location, without a large platform to run.
  • Reporting franchisees can act on. G2's summary of SOCi reviews notes requests for more customizable reporting (G2, as of October 2026). Franchisees want to see their own location, not a brand rollup.

What Multistead includes for every location

Its own website

Built from templates headquarters approves. Owners edit hours, team, offers and photos within brand guardrails.

Local SEO

Titles, descriptions, LocalBusiness schema and sitemaps generated per location, with AI-written local copy and a checklist score.

Google Maps rank grid

A 7×7 grid shows where each location appears on the map, neighborhood by neighborhood.

Review replies

AI drafts replies to Google reviews. Positive ones can post automatically; sensitive ones wait for the owner.

Pre-opening pages

New locations get a Founders page with a countdown, a cap on spots and sign-ups synced to your CRM.

Franchisee support

Cases, requests and change approvals with SLAs, so every change to a location is signed off and recorded.

Reports for every location

Each location has its own reports and dashboards. HQ sees every location, so you can show the FAC where the brand fund goes.

Listings set up for you

We set up and match each location's listings during onboarding, and the platform flags mismatches after that.

Pricing you can see

Multistead publishes its prices: $249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually (monthly costs more), plus $990 a month for headquarters, with unlimited users and no per-user fees. Plans start at 5 locations, with 10% off location fees at 25 and 20% off at 100–399 on annual plans, custom pricing at 400+, plus a one-time setup fee, quoted on your first call, based on the number of sites. Compare that with what you pay today for location websites, listings and reviews, rank tracking and agency time per location. Our multi-location software pricing guide works through the totals, and Yext vs SOCi compares the two larger platforms.

No surprises if you leave

Contracts and exit terms are the top complaint across this whole category. Ours are simple: annual billing, published prices, and if you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).

Switching without a big-bang cutover

Mirror mode brings every location's current website onto Multistead unchanged on day one. Locations then move to a new template one at a time, each as an approved change. Our team sets up redirects from the old page addresses and helps with a smooth transition. No migration is risk-free, but this limits the risk to one location at a time, and the rank grid shows each location before and after.

Questions

Is there a long-term contract?

Annual plans are a 12-month commitment at the lower price. Monthly plans cost more, and you can cancel them at any time with 30 days' notice, which is your offboarding period. Multi-year agreements save 10% for 2 years or 20% for 3 years, with your price locked. If you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).

Is Multistead a full replacement for SOCi?

It depends on what you use SOCi for. Multistead covers location websites, local SEO, Google Maps rank tracking, Google review replies and franchisee support. It does not do localized social media publishing. If social is the main thing you rely on, keep SOCi for that, or talk to us and we'll tell you honestly where Multistead fits.

How much does SOCi cost?

SOCi doesn't publish prices; it quotes by location and by agent, with no per-user or per-listing fees and no free trial. As of October 2026, Capterra lists SOCi as starting at $30,000 and says most partnerships start around $15,000 a year. Those are third-party figures, so ask SOCi for a per-location quote.

How much does Multistead cost compared with SOCi?

Multistead costs $249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually, plus $990 a month for headquarters, with no per-user fees. SOCi quotes its pricing on request, so ask them for a per-location figure to compare like for like.

How many locations do I need?

Multistead plans start at 5 locations, and systems of 400 or more locations get custom pricing. Many brands start with a handful of locations and add the rest once the first ones are live.

Can we keep our current websites while we switch?

Yes. Mirror mode runs each location's existing site on Multistead unchanged, then you move locations to new templates when you're ready.
