What Yext does well
Yext's strength is data accuracy at scale. Its own comparison post claims "200+ direct integrations, real-time updates" for listings, plus an enterprise Knowledge Graph and Scout for competitive and AI-search insight. Yext's FAQ also says cancelling does not delete your listings with publishers; you go back to managing each one directly.
What SOCi does well
SOCi is built for brands whose locations need to post, respond and engage locally. Its pricing page lists three Genius Agents: Local Search (listings, listings optimization, Dynamic Pages, page analytics, search ads), Social (content, engagement, image and video generation, boosting, ads) and Reputation (reviews, voice of customer, solicitation, surveys, chatbots). SOCi charges no per-user fees and no per-listing fees.
What each says about the other
Both vendors publish a comparison, and each favors itself. Yext's post says SOCi offers "bespoke page development only" for local pages and has "limited" competitive intelligence. SOCi's page says Yext's Scout "only reports gaps" while SOCi's agents fix them, and that Yext's social is "basic posting only". Treat these as competitor claims and test them in a demo.
Yext vs SOCi pricing
Neither publishes a price list. Yext's FAQ says: "There's no flat per-location price to quote," rates scale with location count and products, and billing is "typically annual". SOCi's pricing page says it scopes pricing to "how many locations you manage, and which Genius Agents and skills your brand needs."
Third-party figures (not confirmed by either vendor):
- SOCi: Capterra lists a starting price of $30,000 and says "most partnerships start around $15,000 per year".
- Yext: Spike lists self-serve tiers of $199, $449, $499 and $999 per location per year, with custom enterprise pricing above 50 locations. Other sites give different numbers, and Yext's own pricing page returned a 404 when we checked in October 2026.
Our Yext pricing page goes deeper on the conflicting figures.
Contracts
Yext is the more explicit of the two: it "leads with multi-year proposals as the default", and a one-year term "carries a modest uplift over the multi-year rate". SOCi's pricing page does not state a term; ask for it in writing, along with the renewal notice window.
Decision table
| Choose Yext if… | Choose SOCi if… |
|---|---|
| Listing accuracy across many publishers is your top priority | Local social posting and engagement are your top priority |
| You manage structured data for many locations, products or providers | Franchisees need simple tools to post and reply |
| AI-search visibility and competitive insight matter most | You want AI agents that act on reviews and social for each location |
| You're comfortable with a multi-year term for a lower rate | You want unlimited users with no per-listing fees |
Where Multistead fits
Multistead is a third option when the gap isn't listings or social but the location websites themselves. It gives every location a full website from templates headquarters approves, with owners editing hours, team, offers and photos within guardrails. Around it: per-location SEO and schema, a 7×7 Google Maps rank grid, AI review replies with approval for sensitive ones, Founders pages for new openings, a franchisee support desk, and reports per location.
Multistead is not a social publishing tool, and it is not automatic real-time listings syndication. Our team sets up and matches each location's listings on the key directories during onboarding, and the platform flags mismatches. Brands that want instant pushes to a large network can keep Yext alongside it. Prices are published: $249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually.
