Yext pricing in 2026: what it costs and how it's quoted
Yext does not publish its prices. Its own FAQ says pricing is custom, there is "no flat per-location price", and the rate depends on the products you buy and how many locations you have. Third-party sites report self-serve listings plans of $199 to $999 per location per year, but Yext hasn't confirmed those figures, and multi-location brands get a custom quote.
What Yext says about its own pricing
As of October 2026, yext.com/pricing returns a "not found" error, so the most reliable first-party source is the Yext FAQ. It says:
- Custom pricing. "Yext pricing is custom, so there's no single published price, and that's by design." Yext prices "by solution", a bundle built around your goal.
- Location count drives the price. "For most solutions, price is a function of your location count," and "larger volumes earn a better per-unit rate."
- Multi-year by default. "Yext leads with multi-year proposals as the default; a one-year term instead carries a modest uplift."
- Annual billing. "Billing is typically annual; other cadences can be arranged."
- No trial. "There's no free tier and no standard free trial." Existing customers can pilot new products.
- Some API use costs extra. The Live API "is a paid capability"; the Content Delivery API is included.
Yext cost per location: the third-party figures
Several sites publish Yext plan prices. They mostly agree on four self-serve listings tiers, billed annually per location. These are third-party estimates, not prices from Yext:
| Plan | Spike (May 2026) | FrontDeskReview (Sep 2026) | BrightLocal (competitor) | SocialPilot (competitor) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emerging | $199/yr | $199/yr | $199/yr | $4/week |
| Essential | $449/yr | $449/yr | $499/yr | $9/week |
| Complete | $499/yr | $499/yr | $499/yr | $10/week |
| Premium | $999/yr | $999/yr | $999/yr | $19/week |
Sources, as of October 2026: getspike.ai, frontdeskreview.com (which marks its own data as stale and says yext.com/pricing returned errors in June 2026), brightlocal.com and socialpilot.co. The weekly figures work out to roughly $208, $468, $520 and $988 a year, so they broadly match.
The sources conflict in three places:
- Essential: $449 a year (Spike, FrontDeskReview) or $499 (BrightLocal).
- Who qualifies: FrontDeskReview says the self-serve tiers are for US small businesses "under 25 locations". Spike says enterprise pricing applies over 50 locations. SocialPilot lists the small-business tiers as single-location plans.
- Enterprise deals: Spike reports typical annual contract values of $15,000–$25,000, terms of 24–36 months, auto-renewal with 5–10% renewal increases, and a one-time setup fee of $2,000–$5,000. FrontDeskReview gives a much wider range. Neither figure comes from Yext.
Our read: if you have one location, expect something in the $199–$999 a year range for listings. If you run a franchise or chain, the self-serve tiers probably don't apply, and the only real number is the quote Yext gives you.
What's included, and what's an add-on
Yext's FAQ names these products: Listings, Knowledge Graph, Reviews, Social, Pages, Search, Scout (competitive intelligence), Hearsay Social, Hearsay Relate and Yext AI. Scout "can be bought on its own or as part of a packaged solution." Because Yext prices by solution, which products a quote includes depends on the bundle.
The third-party tier lists describe the lower tiers as listings coverage that grows with the plan. BrightLocal's comparison says Review Monitoring and Yext Pages arrive only with Premium. Spike lists competitive intelligence, Yelp knowledge network management, Live API access and extra user seats as separate add-ons, and says Pages and Search pricing is usually bundled into enterprise contracts. Confirm each of these in writing; they are third-party claims.
Worked numbers: Yext tiers for 10 locations
If the third-party tiers did apply at 10 locations, a year of Yext would cost $1,990 (Emerging), $4,490 (Essential), $4,990 (Complete) or $9,990 (Premium). That buys listings software, not location websites. Most of the cost of a multi-location presence sits elsewhere: the websites the listings link to, the agency or web vendor that maintains them, rank tracking and review replies.
For comparison, Multistead's published price is $249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually, plus $990 a month for headquarters. At 10 locations on the Local plan, that's $5,480 a month ($65,760 a year) in recurring costs, plus a one-time setup fee, quoted on your first call, based on the number of sites. Multistead costs more than a listings plan because it does a different job: it runs a website for every location, its SEO, a Google Maps rank grid and review replies. Our multi-location software pricing guide puts these costs side by side.
Contracts and cancellation
Yext's FAQ says "Nothing bad happens to your listings when you cancel Yext," that it "does not cancel or delete your listing with the publisher," and that control "simply returns to the publisher." Some reviewers on Capterra and G2 describe listing details changing after they stopped paying, along with annual contracts and price increases at renewal. Both can be true: when a sync tool stops, each directory goes back to its own data sources. Plan your exit before you sign, not after.
Questions to ask Yext before you sign
- What is my per-location rate at my exact location count, and at the next volume band?
- What is the uplift for a one-year term versus multi-year?
- Does the contract auto-renew? What is the notice window, and is there a renewal increase cap?
- Is there a setup or data-cleansing fee?
- Which products are in the bundle: Listings only, or Pages, Reviews and Search too?
- Are user seats, the Live API or Scout extra?
- If we leave, what happens to our listings and to any Yext Pages, and can we export our data and pages?
Yext competitors and alternatives
Brands searching for Yext competitors usually want one of three things: cheaper listings, a broader local platform, or the location websites Yext's listings point to.
- Cheaper listings with published prices: BrightLocal (from $31 a month for one location on annual billing) and Synup ($299 a month for up to 10 locations). Whitespark sells a one-time "Yext Replacement Service" at $399 per location. All as of October 2026. See Yext vs BrightLocal.
- Broader local platforms, quoted on request: SOCi, Birdeye, Uberall and Chatmeter. See Yext vs SOCi and Birdeye pricing.
- The location websites themselves: that's Multistead.
Where Multistead fits
Multistead runs every location's website and its Google Business Profile, plus per-location SEO and schema, a 7×7 Maps rank grid, AI-drafted review replies (sensitive ones wait for the owner) and reports and dashboards for each location. For listings, we set up and match each location's listings during onboarding on the directories that matter (Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Yelp, Facebook and Instagram, Yellow Pages, Foursquare, and Healthgrades for health brands), and the platform flags mismatches after that. It is not an automatic, real-time push to a large directory network like Yext's. Brands that want instant automatic pushes to hundreds of sites can keep a listings tool alongside. Our Yext alternative page covers the comparison in detail.
Stay with Yext if your main need is pushing data automatically to many directories, apps and AI answer engines, and your location pages already work. Look at Multistead if the weak link is the location websites and the work around them.
Questions
Is there a long-term contract?
Annual plans are a 12-month commitment at the lower price. Monthly plans cost more, and you can cancel them at any time with 30 days' notice, which is your offboarding period. Multi-year agreements save 10% for 2 years or 20% for 3 years, with your price locked. If you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).
How much does Yext cost per location?
Yext does not publish prices. Its FAQ says there is no flat per-location price and the rate depends on the solution and your location count. Third-party sites report self-serve tiers of $199, $449 (or $499), $499 and $999 per location per year as of October 2026, but these are unconfirmed by Yext and multi-location brands get a custom quote.
Does Yext offer monthly billing or a free trial?
Yext's FAQ says billing is typically annual, other cadences can be negotiated, and there is no free tier and no standard free trial. Multi-year terms are the default, and a one-year term costs somewhat more.
What happens to my listings if I cancel Yext?
Yext says your listings are not deleted and control returns to each publisher at the end of your paid term. Some reviewers report listing details changing after cancellation, because directories go back to their own data sources. Ask how your data and pages can be exported before you sign.
Is Yext worth it for fewer than 50 locations?
It depends on what you need. If accurate listings across many directories is the goal, a quote from Yext and from cheaper published-price tools such as BrightLocal or Synup will tell you quickly. If your location websites are the problem, a listings tool alone won't fix it.
Can we use Multistead and Yext together?
Yes. Multistead covers the location websites, Google Business Profile and the key directories, which our team sets up and matches during onboarding, with the platform flagging mismatches afterward. Brands that want instant automatic pushes to a very large directory network can keep Yext or another listings tool alongside it.
