Gyms and boutique fitness

Gym marketing for fitness brands with several locations

Gym marketing for a multi-location fitness brand is mostly two jobs. Sell memberships before each new club opens, then keep every open club visible when people search "gym near me" and easy to join once they land. Multistead gives every club its own site, a presale Founders page, a Google Maps rank grid and one set of membership terms, run from one hub.

From $249 per location per month, billed annually. No per-user fees.

What fitness marketing looks like across every location

Boutique studios and gym franchises have a rhythm single gyms don't. New clubs open often, and each one needs members on day one. Coaches move between studios. Class schedules change every few weeks. Intro offers run at one club and not another. Meanwhile, headquarters needs the brand to look and sound the same everywhere, and the membership terms to match.

The tension is the one every franchise system knows: brand control against local flexibility. A franchisor's team wants approved creative and consistent pricing language. A club owner wants to post this month's challenge without filing a ticket. Multistead splits the work: headquarters sets templates, membership tiers, terms and approved offers; each club edits its own schedule, coaches, photos and local offers inside those guardrails.

Presales before opening: Founders pages for new clubs

Fitness brands sell founding memberships before the doors open. It's the most important marketing a new club does, and it usually runs on a rushed landing page and a spreadsheet. Every new Multistead location can start with a Founders page:

  • A countdown to opening day, set by the owner.
  • A cap on founding spots, so the offer closes when either the deadline passes or the spots run out. After that, people join a waitlist.
  • CRM sync. Every sign-up lands in your CRM tagged by location. GoHighLevel is supported today.
  • Automatic launch. When the countdown ends, the page switches to the full club site without anyone touching it.

The Founders page is on-brand from the start because it uses the same templates as every other location. That also helps your franchise development team: they can show it to prospective franchisees on discovery day as part of the opening playbook.

Class schedules and intro offers that stay current

The pages that convert gym visitors are the schedule and the intro offer. Both go stale fast when only a central team can edit them. In Multistead, each club's owner or manager updates their own schedule, coaches and photos, and picks from the intro offers headquarters has approved: a free first class, a two-week pass, an intro month at a set price. Because there are no per-user fees, every studio manager can have a login.

A good gym location page shows:

  • Membership pricing, or "from" pricing, by tier.
  • The class schedule, with class types explained for first-timers.
  • One clear intro offer and a way to claim it on a phone.
  • Amenities, parking and the hours staff are on site.
  • Coach and trainer bios with photos.
  • The club's own address, map and Google reviews.

Membership terms and auto-renewal law: say it the same way everywhere

Most gym memberships renew automatically, and that is regulated. The FTC's click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit on July 8, 2025, but that didn't remove the obligations. More than half of US states have their own automatic-renewal laws, California's updated law took effect July 1, 2025, and the federal Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA) still applies (Fenwick summary).

For a brand with many clubs, the practical risk is inconsistency: one club's page says "cancel any time", another's says "12-month minimum". Multistead keeps membership terms as headquarters-owned text that appears identically on every location's site. Clubs set their own prices within your ranges; they can't rewrite the terms. Confirm the wording for your states with counsel.

Gym website design and the gym website template

Gym website design for a franchise is a template question. Design one great site, then roll it out to 30 clubs without it turning into 30 slightly different sites. Headquarters approves a set of templates, palettes and photos. Each club picks from that set in Design Studio, reorders sections with a live preview, and pulls photos from the brand library alongside its own.

Under the design, each club's site gets its own titles, descriptions, LocalBusiness schema and sitemap, plus AI-written local copy from the club's real details. A checklist score shows which clubs are missing what. For more on why each location needs its own page, see franchise website design.

Gym marketing ideas that work at every location

  • Win the map for "gym near me". A 7×7 Google Maps rank grid shows where each club appears, street by street. Fix the clubs with gaps first. Read how the rank grid works.
  • Keep Yelp and Facebook matching. We set up and match each club's listings during onboarding (Yelp, Facebook and Instagram, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and others), and the platform flags any club whose name, address or phone stops matching.
  • Reply to every review. AI drafts replies to Google reviews. Positive ones can post automatically; complaints wait for the club manager.
  • Run a seasonal intro offer centrally, then let each club switch it on with one click.
  • Feature coaches. Members choose classes for the coach. Keep bios current when coaches move.
  • Start the presale the week the lease is signed, not the month before opening.

What it costs for a 30-club fitness brand

Worked from the published prices, billed annually:

LineCalculationAmount
Local plan, 30 clubs30 × $449 = $13,470, less 10% volume discount$12,123 / month
Headquarters (brand site, location finder, hub, roles)Flat$990 / month
Monthly total$13,113 / month
One-time setupCovers onboarding, moving current sites over, listings setup and redirectsQuoted on your first call, based on the number of sites

That works out to about $437 per club per month, including the presale pages, rank grid, review replies and per-location reports and dashboards. If you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).

When Multistead is not the right fit

  • You need club management software. Multistead doesn't replace your membership billing or class booking system. It's the website, local search and support layer.
  • You run fewer than 5 clubs. Pricing starts at 5 locations.
  • Social posting is your main need. Multistead is built around websites, local search, reviews and support, not social scheduling.

Questions

How do we launch a presale page for a club that hasn't opened?

Create the location in Multistead and turn on its Founders page. Set the opening date and the number of founding spots, pick the approved offer, and sign-ups flow to your CRM tagged by location. When the countdown ends, the full club site goes live automatically.

Can club managers edit their own class schedules?

Yes. Managers edit schedules, coaches, photos and local offers. Templates, membership terms and anything bigger, like going live, go through the brand's approval chain.

Does Multistead handle membership billing?

No. Keep your club management system for billing and class booking. Multistead runs the websites, local SEO, review replies, presale pages and franchisee support.

Will switching platforms hurt our clubs' rankings?

Mirror mode runs each club's current site unchanged on Multistead from day one, then clubs move to the new templates one at a time. You can check each club's rank grid before and after it switches. When a location moves to a new template, our team sets up redirects from the old page addresses and helps with a smooth transition.

What does it cost per club?

$249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually, with 10% off location fees at 25 to 99 locations and 20% off at 100 to 399. Brands with 400 or more locations get custom pricing. No per-user fees.
