Multistead / Multi-location marketing software
Multi-location marketing software
Multi-location marketing software that runs every location from one hub
Multi-location marketing software lets a brand with many locations run local marketing for all of them at once: each location's website, its Google presence, its reviews and its rankings, under one set of brand rules. Multistead does that for franchises, chains and groups from 5 locations up, at a published price per location.
$249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually; custom pricing from 400 locations. Unlimited users, no per-user fees.
What multi-location marketing is, and why it needs its own software
Multi-location marketing is the work of getting every location found and chosen by people nearby, while the brand stays consistent. A customer searches "near me", Google shows a map, and each location either appears there with a good page and recent reviews, or it doesn't. Do that once and a small business tool is enough. Do it for 40 locations, each with its own hours, staff, offers and neighborhood, and you need a system that keeps headquarters in control without making every change a ticket.
The category goes by several names: local marketing platform, franchise marketing software, multi-location digital marketing and, in enterprise settings, distributed marketing. Distributed marketing tools usually focus on co-op funds and print. This page covers the digital, search-led side.
The jobs it must do for every location
- A real website or page for each location, built from brand-approved templates, that owners can keep current.
- Local SEO per location: titles, descriptions, LocalBusiness schema, sitemaps and local copy that isn't a city-name swap.
- Google Business Profile management: correct details and a link to the location's own page.
- Rank tracking on Google Maps, street by street, not one average number.
- Review replies at every location, with a rule for which replies need a human.
- New-location launches: a page that collects sign-ups before the doors open.
- Brand control and support: who can change what, how franchisees ask for help, and a record of every approval.
- Reporting per location, so headquarters can show where the brand fund went.
How most brands stitch it together today
Most multi-location brands buy these jobs from four or five vendors. Each is good at its part. The cost is in the gaps: the listings tool points to a page another vendor controls, the rank tracker shows a problem nobody can fix without an agency ticket, and franchisee requests live in email.
| Job | Usual vendor | The gap |
| Location websites | Web agency or a CMS per location | Every photo, price or staff change is a ticket |
| Local SEO | SEO agency retainer | The agency works on a site it doesn't host |
| Rank tracking | A rank tracker billed by credits or keywords | Shows problems, fixes none |
| Reviews | A reviews or reputation platform | Separate login, separate bill |
| Listings | A listings platform | Points to pages it doesn't control |
| Franchisee requests | Email or an operations tool | No SLA, no record of who approved what |

Every location has its own reports and dashboards, and headquarters sees all of them, so you can show the franchise advisory council where the brand fund goes, location by location. On day one, mirror mode runs each location's current website unchanged on Multistead; locations then move to new templates one at a time, and our team sets up redirects from the old page addresses so the move is smooth. Headquarters ($990 per month) adds the brand site, location finder, hub and roles, and is waived at 50+ locations on Complete. There is also a one-time setup fee, quoted on your first call, based on the number of sites.
Listings: during onboarding, as part of the setup fee, our team sets up and matches each location's listings on the directories that matter (Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Yelp, Facebook and Instagram, Yellow Pages, Foursquare and, for health brands, Healthgrades). After that, the citation tracker flags any directory where a location's name, address or phone is missing or doesn't match. Many brands won't need a separate listings tool; if you want instant automatic pushes to a very large directory network, keep one alongside. What Multistead doesn't do: publish to social media or buy ads. For clinics, we sign a BAA, on top of MFA, an audit log and encryption.
Who it's for, and who it isn't for
A good fit
- Franchises, chains and groups with 5 to 2,000 locations
- Service brands where local search drives bookings: med spa, IV and wellness, fitness, home services, PT, chiro and dental, salons, pet care, childcare
- Brands that want every location editable by its owner, within brand guardrails
- Teams paying a web vendor, an SEO agency, a rank tracker and a reviews tool separately
- Brands opening new locations that need sign-ups before launch
Not a good fit
- Fewer than 5 locations: a single-location tool will cost less
- Brands happy with their websites that only need review replies or rank tracking
- Brands whose main need is instant automatic pushes to a very large directory network
- Teams looking mainly for social publishing or paid ads management

Point tools are cheaper than Multistead per location; Reputation.com starts at $80. If they cover what you need, use them. Multistead earns its price when it replaces a web vendor, an SEO agency, a rank tracker, a reviews tool and a support inbox at once. Questions
Is there a long-term contract?
Annual plans are a 12-month commitment at the lower price. Monthly plans cost more, and you can cancel them at any time with 30 days' notice, which is your offboarding period. Multi-year agreements save 10% for 2 years or 20% for 3 years, with your price locked. If you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).
What is multi-location marketing software?
It is software that runs local marketing for many locations from one place: location websites or pages, Google Business Profiles, local SEO, rankings, reviews and the approvals between headquarters and each location. Some tools cover one of those jobs; platforms like Multistead cover several in one contract.
We already have Yext. Do we need this?
Yext's core is listings and its knowledge graph. Multistead covers the location website, the Google Business Profile and the key directories: we set up and match your listings during onboarding, and the platform flags mismatches. Brands that want instant automatic pushes to a very large directory network can keep a listings tool alongside.
Can our agency keep working with us?
Yes. Users are unlimited with no per-user fees, so your agency can have seats. The brand owns the hub and templates, so the work stays with you if the agency changes.
Will switching platforms hurt our SEO?
Mirror mode runs each location's existing site unchanged on Multistead on day one. Locations move to new templates one at a time, our team sets up redirects from the old page addresses, and you can check each one with the Maps grid before and after. No migration is risk-free, which is why there is no big-bang cutover.
Will franchisees actually use it?
Owners only touch what they care about: hours, team, offers and photos, chosen from approved palettes and photos. Positive review replies can post automatically, so locations get value even if an owner rarely logs in.
What does it cost?
$249, $449 or $649 per location per month, billed annually, from 5 locations; 400 or more locations get custom pricing. Headquarters is $990 per month, waived at 50+ locations on Complete. There is also a one-time setup fee, quoted on your first call, based on the number of sites.
