Chatmeter alternative

A Chatmeter alternative for brands that need every location's website, not just its listings

The right Chatmeter alternative depends on why you're looking. Chatmeter is strong at listings, reviews and customer feedback, and it is now part of Alchemer, a survey and customer-intelligence company. If your gap is the location websites, Maps rankings and franchisee requests, Multistead covers that ground with published per-location prices. If your gap is feedback analytics, Chatmeter may now be the better fit, not the worse one.

Multistead: from $249 per location per month, billed annually. Unlimited users.

Chatmeter is now part of Alchemer

Alchemer announced the acquisition of Chatmeter on September 24, 2025. Alchemer described the aim as combining its "direct" feedback (surveys, in-app prompts) with Chatmeter's "indirect" feedback (reviews, social posts, customer comments). As of October 2026, the footer of chatmeter.com reads: "Chatmeter is now part of Alchemer – a complete customer intelligence platform."

An acquisition isn't a reason to leave on its own. But it is a good moment to check that the product you bought for is the product on the roadmap. The questions further down help with that.

What Chatmeter offers, as of October 2026

  • Listings: "keep every location accurate across Google, Apple Maps, and 70+ directories" (chatmeter.com).
  • Local Pages: "SEO-optimized landing pages for every location".
  • Reputation management with AI-assisted review responses.
  • The pricing page also lists Social, Surveys, Reporting, "Pulse Ai" and dedicated support.

What Chatmeter does well: listings, reviews and feedback analytics in one place, unlimited users, and enterprise depth for retail, restaurants and healthcare groups. With Alchemer's surveys behind it, the review-plus-survey picture is likely to get stronger.

Chatmeter pricing

Chatmeter doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says: "We price by location, with unlimited users," and "It depends on what you need." The quote form asks for your location count in bands: 1–4, 5–14, 15–49, 50–149, 150–499 and 500+. That tells you Chatmeter sells to small groups as well as large ones, but not what any band costs.

"Unlimited users" is not a difference between Chatmeter and Multistead. Both offer it. The difference is what the per-location price buys.

Where Multistead is different

Chatmeter's Local Pages are landing pages for each location. Multistead gives each location a full website from templates headquarters approves, which owners can update within brand guardrails. Around that site it adds:

  • Per-location SEO (titles, descriptions, LocalBusiness schema, sitemaps) with a checklist score. Our guide to SEO for multiple locations explains why this matters.
  • A 7×7 Google Maps rank grid for every location.
  • AI-drafted Google review replies, with sensitive ones held for the owner. See review management.
  • Founders pages for locations that haven't opened yet.
  • Listings on the key directories set up and matched during onboarding, with mismatches flagged afterwards.
  • A support desk for franchisee cases, requests and change approvals with SLAs, plus reports and dashboards for each location.

Listings, honestly: Multistead covers the website and Google Business Profile for every location, and the key directories in a different way: during onboarding our team sets up and matches each location's listings on Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Yelp, Facebook/Instagram, Yellow Pages and Foursquare (plus Healthgrades for health brands), and the platform's citation tracker then flags any directory where a name, address or phone is missing or doesn't match. It is not automatic real-time syndication to a large directory network. Multistead also does not run customer surveys. If instant syndication to 70+ directories or surveys are core for you, keep a listings or survey tool alongside, or stay with Chatmeter.

Worked cost: Multistead in Chatmeter's location bands

Here is the recurring yearly cost of Multistead's Local plan ($449 per location per month, billed annually) at a location count inside three of Chatmeter's bands. It includes the $990/month Headquarters plan.

Chatmeter bandExampleMultistead Local, per yearPer location / month
5–1410 locations$65,760$548
15–4930 locations (10% off)$157,356$437
50–14975 locations (10% off)$375,570$417

Setup is not included: it is a one-time setup fee, quoted on your first call, based on the number of sites. The volume discount applies to per-location fees only. At small counts the Headquarters plan weighs more per location, which is why 10 locations cost more each. These are Multistead's own published prices; Chatmeter's are quote-only.

Questions to ask before you renew or switch

  1. Which products are on the roadmap for the next 12 months, and which are being folded into the parent platform?
  2. Will our contract, pricing and support team change at renewal?
  3. What notice period does our contract require to cancel, and when does it auto-renew?
  4. If we leave, what can we export: listings data, review history, location pages?
  5. What does the per-location price include, and what is an add-on?

Ask Multistead the same questions. Our answers: billing is annual, and if you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).

Who should stay with Chatmeter

  • Brands that want reviews, surveys and feedback analytics in one customer-intelligence platform.
  • Teams that depend on syndication to Apple Maps and dozens of directories.
  • Brands whose location websites are already strong and owned in-house.

Questions

Is there a long-term contract?

Annual plans are a 12-month commitment at the lower price. Monthly plans cost more, and you can cancel them at any time with 30 days' notice, which is your offboarding period. Multi-year agreements save 10% for 2 years or 20% for 3 years, with your price locked. If you leave, you can take an export of your sites (an offboarding fee is agreed up front in your contract, so there are no surprises).

Who owns Chatmeter now?

Alchemer announced that it acquired Chatmeter on September 24, 2025. As of October 2026, chatmeter.com says Chatmeter is now part of Alchemer.

How much does Chatmeter cost?

Chatmeter does not publish prices. Its pricing page says it prices by location with unlimited users and quotes after a form that asks for your location count, from 1–4 up to 500+.

What are the main Chatmeter competitors?

For listings, Yext, Uberall and Rio SEO. For reviews, Reputation and Birdeye. For rank tracking, BrightLocal. For location websites with SEO, rank grids, review replies and a franchisee desk in one hub, Multistead.

Does Multistead do listings like Chatmeter?

Partly. Multistead manages the website and Google Business Profile for every location, sets up and matches listings on key directories such as Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and Yelp during onboarding, and flags mismatches afterwards. It is not automatic real-time syndication, so brands that need that can keep a listings tool alongside it.

Can we switch without losing rankings from our current location pages?

Multistead's mirror mode runs each location's existing site unchanged on day one, then moves locations to new templates one at a time, so you can check each location's rank grid before and after.

Chatmeter and Alchemer are trademarks of their owners. Multistead is not affiliated with either. Competitor details come from the sources linked on this page as of October 2026. Check current features, prices and terms with each vendor.
